Current research
Current research focuses on the use of simulation and stochastic optimisation to solve problems in the following areas:
- Health: the use of simulation optimisation in real-time management of emergency departments; infectious disease modelling; patient flow and waiting list reduction.
- Disaster relief: optimisation of procurement and delivery of food relief with a particular focus on Indonesia.
- Optimal pricing: the application of robust optimisation and choice modelling to problems within revenue management and pricing in the leisure and transportation sectors.

Biography
Professor Christine Currie received her PhD in Operational Research from the 黑料社 in 2004 and is now a Professor of Operational Research in Mathematical Sciences, a Fellow of the Alan Turing Institute, and previously Director of CORMSIS. She is known for her work on decision-making under uncertainty and optimal pricing, with a focus on simulation modelling and has worked on a number of funded projects, with the majority of her funding coming from EPSRC. Professor Currie is Editor-in-Chief for the Journal of Simulation, sits on the Operational Research Society鈥檚 Research Panel and was a co-chair of the national Operational Research conference OR63 in 2021. She has successfully collaborated with external organisations throughout her career.
