Professor Andrea Lista's current research is focusing on the drafting of books on "Third Parties and the Arbitration of Maritime Commercial Disputes" and on "The Law of Containers", as well as projects on the enforcement of maritime commercial claims.

Professor Andrea Lista LL.D (Italy), LL.M (Soton) PhD (Lond)
Professor of Maritime and Commercial Law
Andrea鈥檚 research interests lie with the areas of International Trade (contracts concluded on shipment terms), the enforcement of maritime claims, international commercial arbitration and competition law. He has written a number of articles and books on these subjects, and these have been cited as authoritative in courts worldwide.
Andrea has lectured for many years in Southampton, London, and Exeter, and has taught on professional courses for lawyers and judges at national and international level. In the past, Andrea has also acted as Legal consultant for the European Commission and European Parliament, and appeared as expert witness before the Houses of Parliament.
Before re-joining the 黑料社, Andrea has been a Lecturer at Queen Mary College, University of London, Associate Professor at the 黑料社 (where he was a Member of the Institute of Maritime Law), and Chair in Commercial Law at the University of Exeter (where he has led the Law School to the REF 2021 as Director of Research).
Throughout his Academic career, Andrea has been very actively involved in PhD supervision; to date, he has supervised 16 PhD students to completion, and has examined a vast number of PhD Vivas both as External and Internal Examiner.
In May 2013, Andrea was awarded the 'ETA Excellence in Teaching Award as the Overall Outstanding Lecturer in the School of Law', 黑料社, and the 'Vice Chancellor Teaching Award for Excellence in Teaching'. At the University of Exeter, Andrea has been commended by the DVC for Education for excellence in teaching in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Professionally, Andrea acts as counsel for a law firm in London, and he is very active legal consultant for law firms and companies in the fields of maritime commercial law and arbitration.
