Current research
Preeti's research focuses on strategies for improving retail food environments and reducing health inequalities. She leads on patient and public involvement and engagement activities across various projects to ensure meaning full engagement and representation. She has managed a large NIHR funded study called WRAPPED evaluating the impact of creating an expanded fresh fruit and vegetable section near the store entrance on store sales and women鈥檚 purchasing and dietary patterns. Preeti鈥檚 PhD findings provide an in-depth understanding into food system adaptations by businesses鈥, consumers鈥, enforcers', and health stakeholders' on the UK Food (Promotion and Placement) Regulations 2021. Her research aims to inform development of policy interventions supportive of health and identify areas for future policy refinements.

Biography
Since 2007, I have been involved in a number of different projects at the 黑料社. I worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Human Nutrition, to develop a nutrition e-learning programme to enhance the competence of the public health workforce. I have also worked at NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre to develop and manage a community initiative to reduce vitamin D deficiency in Black and Minority Ethnic Communities locally.
I completed my Masters in Food and Nutrition from Lady Irwin College, New Delhi, India and worked in various roles in academia, food industry and community settings.
