Biography
Dr Daniel Cid is Associate Professor of Design Studies at the 黑料社, Winchester School of Art.
He has recently conducted research projects as Level Zero Apartment in collaboration with Arrels Foundation (experimental domestic project for homeless), Design Decoding with elBulli and Ferran Adri脿 or General Rehearsal (experimental project about food, design and sustainability) with FAD (Fostering Arts and Design) and at Design Hub Barcelona.
He has been Scientific Director of ELISAVA until May 2015 working with different companies like Desigual, Ar莽elik, Talgo, ASCER, URBASER, Benetton Factory or Decathlon.
Lecturer at various European, American and Asian universities.
His research also includes theoretical thinking about design. He has recently co-published books as Las casas de la vida (Ariel, 2012) or Barcelona Masala. Narratives and Interactions in Cultural Space (Actar, 2014).
Between 2007 and 2010 he was an advisor to the mayor of Barcelona on architecture and town-planning projects for the city. Between 2005 and 2009 he was the Vice President of the Spanish association of designers, FAD (Fostering Arts and Design).
He holds a Ph.D. in Aesthetics, Art and Architecture from the University of Barcelona.
