Current research
Chloe joined the Macmillan Survivorship Research Group (MSRG), now Centre for Psychosocial Research in Cancer: CentRIC, from University College London in 2012 where she now works as an Associate Professor
Between 2017-2022 Chloe held an NIHR post-doctoral fellowship which aimed to better understand the mechanisms that determine sustained habitual physical activity in people following a cancer diagnosis.
On completion of her fellowship, Chloe worked for 2 years in industry as a Senior Behavioural Science Consultant specialising in medicine adherence, before returning to academia.
Chloe is internationally recognised in the field of prehabilitation with research interest in psychological optimisation and behaviour change among patients diagnosed with cancer. She is the lead behavioural scientist for the . This trial, funded by NHS England Transformation Funding in collaboration with the Wessex Cancer Alliance, explores the impact of physical and psychological prehabilitation prior to cancer surgery.
Chloe is also behavioural science lead for the : virtual clinics to deliver a multimodal intervention to improve psychological and physical well-being in people with cancer.
Chloe is also a member of the NIHR Cancer and Nutrition Collaboration and the International Moving Through Cancer Taskforce.

Biography
Dr Chloe Grimmett is an Associate Professor in the School of Health Sciences. Chloe鈥檚 research interests include the development of interventions to support self-management following a cancer diagnosis. She has a particular interest in the role of physical activity as a component of prehabilitation as well as during recovery from cancer treatment.
I鈥檝e seen the physical and mental health benefits people affected by cancer can experience by being physically active. I want to find the best way to support individuals to be active for the long term, preparing for treatment, aiding recovery and maximising their quality of life and wellbeing.
