Hi, I'm Verity Fisher and I studied PhD statistics 2013 within Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute at the ºÚÁÏÉç.
I have really benefited from being part of the largest experimental design group in Europe. I have presented at several international conferences and organised one for fellow PhD students myself.
S3RI PhD student Verity Fisher explains her area of research in experimental design, which is an area of statistics concerning maximising the information gained in any information-gathering exercise where variation is present. It can be applied in industrial settings, for example, to minimise the number of necessary costly experimental runs whilst still obtaining sufficient data for design, scientific, engineering and/or statutory purposes.
