Car parking

Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) technology is in use across the University to validate vehicles which are authorised to park in the University's car parks. The occupancy levels within the University's main car parks can be viewed Ìý

To apply for permissions to park at theÌý University, please visit the , and log in using your University ID. The University operates strict eligibility criteria to manage demand for car parking, outlined in its parking Regulations. Please ensure that you have verified your eligibility in advance of submitting an application.Ìý

The University operates a charging system for the use of its car parks. A table outlining these charges can be found below:

* Alongside Grades 1a and 1b, staff whom are Blue Badge holders and Essential Car Users are exempt from parking charges, as are students.Ìý

Parking Charge Notices (PCN)Ìý

The University's car parks are managed via a combination of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras and manual patrols to ensure that the University's Regulations are complied with. Signage can be found within the University's car parks to advise drivers that enforcement is in operation.Ìý

A vehicle found parked in non-compliance of the University's Regulations will be issued with a Parking Charge Notice (PCN) for £50. A discount of £25 is given on PCNs paid within 14 days of the PCN being issued. Information about the appeals process is contained on the PCN.Ìý

Electrical Vehicle Charging Across Our CampusesÌý

The University has EV charging facilities across Highfield, Avenue, Winchester and Boldrewood campuses, supplied by Pod Point.

Pod Point has an easy to use app available to iPhone and Android users. Staff can simply download the app, log in using their University email address, and follow the instructions in the user guide to charge their vehicle. If you have external visitors who require temporary access to a charger, please let the parking team know via and they will be happy to register their email address to enable them to use the system.

Once charging has finished we ask that the vehicle is removed promptly to give others the opportunity to charge.
