Our network includes international, world-leading scholars and academic institutions. They offer postgraduate taught (MA) and postgraduate research (MPhil/PhD) programmes. These programmes offer the chance to study world cultures and societies in depth. Our research focuses on Africa, the Americas, Asia and Europe.

Our members’ expertise spans disciplines across humanities and social sciences. These include literary and cultural studies, critical and cultural theory, and visual studies. We also have members with a background in anthropology, sociology, politics and geography. Our expertise also extends to history and linguistics.

We offer PhD supervision from the perspective of all these disciplines, and our centre has a good record of funded programmes.

Our members thrive in an intellectually stimulating environment, where we place a particular emphasis on involving the international postgraduate student community. 

We hold regular events to support our students. These events offer an opportunity to meet academics and stakeholders from other areas.
